He is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. In March 2009\, he became Medical Director of the Down Syndrome Center of Western Pennsylvania and has also served as President of the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC). Dr. Vellody has spoken at a variety of local\, regional\, national\, and international meetings on the care of children with Down syndrome.
