Family Care & Caregiver Support
Parents have a lot of obligations. Parent caregivers to a child or adult with disabilities have a unique set of responsibilities that often last for a lifetime. You are responsible for balancing the needs of other children, a spouse, extended family, work, and household tasks while managing the medical, educational, vocational, and other service needs.
Accessing the support you need – when you need it – makes you a better parent and caregiver. We speak your language.

National family health data shows that caregivers of children with disabilities experience significantly more mental health challenges and less social support.

FAQs
The persistent worries and the sense of always being ‘on call’ for our families can lead to burnout. Will my child make friends? How will my child learn? Will they be able to secure a job or go to college? Where will they live? What services do I need to secure to ensure a comfortable future for our family? How can I keep my child with Down syndrome safe?
