Parents of a child with intellectual disabilities are invited to nominate any education professional that have been inspiring and committed to their students in the past year. Nominations closed on February 27, 2026. Send your nominations to Ame Branam, Education Director.

Who is eligible?

All education and support professionals who provide direct services to a student with an intellectual disability in preK-12 are eligible. Nominees must be working in a school district in public or private school in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

How will the educators be honored?

Educator(s) that are selected for an Award will be honored at the 12th Disability Education and Transition Conference and will receive a plaque & gift card.
