Self-Care Time for Caregivers!

We all love our kids, and we all need some adult time too. Enjoy time away while VDSA staff and volunteers keep your children safe and occupied! This event is open to families of individuals with Down syndrome.

The VDSA Parents Night Respite Event will take place on Friday, April 17th from 6 pm- 8 pm at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church (215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg). PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF BEFORE 6 PM. Individuals with Down syndrome and their siblings are welcome at this event. We have revamped our Parent Respite Night to make it more fun and interactive for your child. ALL AGES WELCOME, we have some really fun activities planned including:

A Music/Dance Class in the Dance Room (with props!)
Playground (weather permitting)
Arts & Crafts in the Art Room
Games and toys in the Play Room for those that prefer quieter activities
A fun and healthy snack
We will have VDSA adult volunteers as well as teen volunteers to make it extra fun. We hope the variety in activities will engage more of our kiddos for a fun night so that parents can enjoy a evening on their own. If you have a teen with Down Syndrome, please consider allowing them to volunteer!! It will be a really fun night for everyone.
Any questions please reach out to Community Coordinator, Stephanie at scleary@virginiadsa.org

When you register, please add tickets for all of the children that will attend AND yourself (we will need your email address!).

VDSA staff (who have all passed criminal background checks) along with trained volunteers will be on sight to supervise the attendees.

Williamsburg Presbyterian is within walking distance of Merchant’s Square with many shops and restaurants and the beautiful campus of William & Mary, so feel free to park at the church and walk to your destination!
