Beach Night at the Admirals Game! Come out to cheer on the Admirals in your beach gear for their Beach Night! The first 20 individuals with Down syndrome are free! $5 from each ticket will go to the VDSA. Wear your Hawaiian shirts and shades and join the VDSA for a fun night out! April Baby/Toddler Play Group Join us for a casual play group for the kids to play and parents to catch up and socialize! Never attended? No problem! We would love to meet you! Join VDSA for the Family Summer Pool Party & Potluck at Chickahominy Riverfront Park & Pool! VDSA will have a reserved, shaded pavilion next to the pool and playground and will bring fried chicken as a main entree. Please sign up to bring a side, dessert or drinks to share. Members can play in the pool, splash pad & playground and enjoy fellowship and community with other VDSA families in Greater Williamsburg and Virginia Peninsula. We look forward to seeing everyone!
Self-Care Time for Caregivers! We all love our kids, and we all need some adult time too. Enjoy time away while VDSA staff and volunteers keep your children safe and occupied! This event is open to families of individuals with Down syndrome. The VDSA Parents Night Respite Event will take place on Friday, April 17th from 6 pm- 8 pm at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church (215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg). Celebrate Valentine's Day with our VDSA families from Hampton Roads and Williamsburg!! There will be dancing, socializing, picture taking and crafts. Drinks and some snacks will be provided, but please bring a snack or treat to share if you can. Come in play clothes, casual wear or your very best Valentine's Days fancy dress. Join the Virginia Down Syndrome Association Williamsburg/Peninsula for a fun afternoon of good food, play time, holiday crafts, cookie decorating and hopefully a visit from THE BIG GUY himself. Gifts provided for all individuals with Down Syndrome, as well as siblings aged 10 & under. Wear festive attire!! There is a playground next to the clubhouse so hopefully the weather will cooperate. We have revamped our Parent Respite Night to make it more fun and interactive for your child. ALL AGES WELCOME, we have some really fun activities planned including: A Music/Dance Class in the Dance Room (with props!) Gaga Ball Game Arts & Crafts in the Art Room Games and toys in the Play Room for those that prefer quieter activities Some fun and healthy snacks We will have VDSA adult volunteers as well as teen volunteers from WPC's Teen Group to make it extra fun.
