    Learn with Va-LEND! Join us for a free, virtual information on March 20th at 6pm to learn all about Virginia LEND! Virginia LEND is a program that helps health professionals, people with disabilities and their families learn how to be leaders. People from all different experiences and professions learn together about how they can provide person- and family-centered services for children and adults with disabilities. People with disabilities and family members learn from the professionals and the professionals learn from people with disabilities and family members so they can work better together.     Richmond – Adaptive Storytime

    Support your child’s early literacy by attending the VDSA’s new Adaptive Storytime program hosted by VCU doctoral student, Kaitlyn Spitler, OTS, and the VDSA Education Director, Ame Branam at the VDSA office. Each session will feature a book from Natalie Hale’s Whole Child Reading Program, expanded with multi-sensory and motor-based approaches. It will further incorporate opportunities for free play and social engagement. This program is targeted towards children with Down syndrome age 0-5, though siblings and family members are welcome to join.     3,2,1 Pool Time Let's celebrate our family and friends with Down Syndrome on 3/21 by splashing in the indoor pool! March 21, 3-4:30pm @ Wilderness Presidential Resort Non-swimmers MUST have an adult in the pool with them at all times. Bring your own floaties(for non-swimmers only), goggles, towels, etc! Individual with Down Syndrome is Free! Other family members $5/each Limited tickets, so RSVP early!! All families will also have to complete a Wilderness Resort Waiver too.
