Richmond Grandparent Support Group – Join us in March! Connect with other grandparents on a similar journey. This group is peer-led and will promote conversation and connection for caregivers like you. This meeting will take place in-person at our VDSA office in Richmond on Monday, March 2nd from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Feel free to bring a bagged dinner! The Virginia Down Syndrome Association plans to offer an 8 week educational series presented by Ame Branam, Education Director, and Rachel Goldman, OTS at Virginia Commonwealth University. Both presenters have completed sexuality educator training through Elevatus Training. We have class offerings for self-advocates in high school and beyond. Support your child’s early literacy by attending the VDSA’s new Adaptive Storytime program hosted by VCU doctoral student, Kaitlyn Spitler, OTS, and the VDSA Education Director, Ame Branam at the VDSA office. Each session will feature a book from Natalie Hale’s Whole Child Reading Program, expanded with multi-sensory and motor-based approaches.
